cleanskies is ever so married now!

almost done! 3 months ago

It all got a bit pushed aside as I used the room to create wedding materials (favours, orders of service, pictures to cover the pictures on the walls and so on) but I just have to clear some stuff away, set up my drawing board, and I am done!

I spent last night painting it white 5 months ago

It’s a small room at the back of the house, overlooking the garden. When we got there it was painted prosthetic pink on two walls and murky coffee on the other two, the ceiling was white with nicotine stipple. I spent yesterday night painting it white; today it’s drying. Tomorrow my desk goes up. The cat already loves the room (or would if it wasn’t full of stinky paint).

Well, sort of. 10 months ago

I technically have my studio, I’m just not completely satisfied with it yet. I’ll get there, but for now I want to mark this as done so I can add a more important goal to my list.

my studio needs some tweaking 11 months ago

My studio is pretty much set up at this point, but it keeps becoming a dumping ground for all the random crap in the house that there’s no other space for. The next step is to clear it out and clean it up so it becomes a more pleasant place to spend time. Then I need to actually spend time there.

progress -- I have a desk in the corner of Tim's studio 14 months ago

Next step, I need to get a big A3 box to hold all my crap and keep it safe from the little cat. It’s not my own, but it’s OK. It’s a bit like being back at school, working away with a roommate.

Because I can’t sculpt at home – too much stone dust
Also can’t write at home in presence of household tasks yet to be done

A studio, why not. It is great for a young person with no kids. For me its like having a big bedroom with all the facilities needed and easy to clean too. I’ll remodel it entirely as I have my room now. I currently have a big room and with my budget I don’t see myself in a small apartment.

Art Studio / Pottery Studio / DJ Studio / Workshop 23 months ago

Hmmmm…combining all of those into one will be difficult. not a good idea to put a workshop where sensitive audio equipment is…or sticky paint & clay. Must rethink this one.

where i can 2 years ago

have more space to paint, keep my painting equipments, keep photos, write, make things and practice some music.

someday 4 years ago

i want a space where i can be myself. a space where i can hum a tune and do whatever i desire. somewhere i can take my shoes off and paint. where i can make a pot of tea and read. where i can develop and print my photographs. where i can play music as loud and pound on clay as hard as i want. where my supplies are endless. with a large flat table space to set up blocks and piece patterns together. a place with tall windows and dripping gutters. a space with live plants and bright colored walls. my own studio.
