A stadium full of people who love baseball…

An occasional cup of green beer going by, looking like liquid emeralds in the sunshine…

figuring out how to get into the stadium without ouching my bad knee…

The A’s won! And they look fantastic!

at Spring Training, and we saw the A’s play the Rangers today. The A’s won, although there were errors—it’s spring training after all.

We drove a LONG time to get here and I’m tahrd. More later!

but here we are in Phoenix. We attended our first spring training game today, going directly from the road, not checking into the hotel. The A’s beat the Texas Rangers, 9-7.

So I think I can retire this one. What a great time this is!!

Hotel in Phoenix near the airport – check. I’m not flying in, but Phoenix Airport is near Papago Park and Phoenix Municipal Stadium, where the Oakland A’s play and where I’ll be spending most of my time.

I’ll be driving, and I’ve already reserved a night in Indio, a nice spot in between. It’s a timeshare, so it costs me little.

And I have already reserved game tickets for while I’m there.
