it's been a few years 21 months ago

    and it’s still anonymous
    so i’m calling this done
    yay

i'm still in favor, but for now, i'm gsd (copyright rob 2005) 4 years ago

but continue to think about it while i’m gone… don’t let this become highschool all over again… online…

have you considered... 4 years ago

how it will feel to know who’s stopped subscribing to you?

it’s one thing to see a little number go down

but quite another to know who dropped you, and then feeling all personally rejected and whatnot, and seeing that person’s posts with a jaundiced eye… and being all-around wierded out

    ugh

and if you agree 4 years ago

here’s a good place to make your views known:

(did you even know there was a forty-three ideas site all about how to improve forty-three things? tres cool)

here's my perspective 4 years ago

I know that a lot of people want to know who is subscribing to them, but honestly, I’d rather not. I would feel more self-conscious about my entries if I knew EXACTLY who was reading them on a regular basis. Sure, I’ve got some ideas based on who responds to my entries, and I’m totally comfortable with that.

One of the reasons I don’t want to reveal who I’M subscribed to is that sometimes I subscribe to someone on a trial basis to see if I’m interested in what they’re writing about. If I decide that I’m NOT really interested in what they’re writing, then I unsubscribe. No guilt about it. If this were made public, I would feel pressure to keep people on my list so that I wouldn’t hurt their feelings by unsubscribing. (Nor do I want to know when someone unsubscribes from me!)

I think the anonymity built into this ONE feature on 43T is a great asset.
