I just wanted to share how I spent my Birthday weekend. This year my special day landed on Good Friday right before Easter Sunday.
I had never been to Temecula. I called my Bother to see if he wanted to go with us because it’s one of his fav places to go with his honey. Well they had plans to spend Saturday there with her friend from Virgina. Also McSmarty’s co-worker McRocketguy and fishing buddy was going to be out there too visiting his parents.
We drove out and had a nice B-B-Q dinner at McRocketGuy’s parents house(he too like McSmarty is a second generation Aerospace dude) after we checked into our hotel. We were going to stay at a B and B but they are not very “kid friendly” When we got to the house the little cousin Thomas, who was 4, asked where we were going to sleep. He seemed a bit concerned seeing how there was already 9 people spending the night, before we arrived. His Dad Mc CarGuy the brother of McRocketGuy is the middle of restoring a Shelby Cobra. It was funny cause, Mc Rocketguy told him to tell McSmarty about his car. I said, sorry, you need to tell Dawn about your car :D
We swapped some Carrol Shelby & Jay Leno stories and tales of where they used to drag race in LA in the old days.
The next day we went wine tasting with My Bother, his Honey, Her guy gay friend, McSmarty and my kids. I think my kids are gaining on Bill in his goal of becoming more worldly I picked up a nice Port. It will take me for-ev-er to drink it but thats fine. I like having a good bottle around when I’m in the mood and it does not go bad if stored property. McGuyfriend is going to show us around DC this Summer when we visit. He was a great guy. I’m sure it will make McSmarty extra uncomfortable to be around two gay guys at the same time. He is such a dork, he needs to get over himself.
They made this wonderful picnic lunch that we ate at one of the wineries. They had this sign the said,”If you use our facilities please be kind and drink our wine” Oh darn, we have to buy & drink more Vino :)
They had to get home and we went and sat by the pool and in the jacuzzi. We were going to go to dinner but I was wiped out. McSmarty said he had never ordered a pizza in a hotel before so we did that and watched The Pacifier for the 3rd time.(1st for McSmarty) the kids and I like it. “LAND!!” LOL!!! :D
We went to Easter Mass in Temecula the overflow filled the hall and I have to tell you it was nicer that some churches I have been in. We stopped by the outlet mall in Lake Elsinore ( I used to jet ski there, the lake, not the mall) Everyone needed shoes but me of course. I felt left out so I picked up some fashion sunglasses. We bought more than three pairs of shoes but everybody needed new stuff anyway.
Hot tip, it was not very crowded on Easter Sunday.
