How I did it: A new friend randomly invited me along to Whatcom Falls. It's twisted.. Flying 3 miles from a plane to the earth was less scary than staring over this cliff ledge knowing that if something went wrong during sky diving I was pretty much dead, but there were plenty of ways I could injure myself hitting that water and regret living through.Anyway, the guy bought my beers for the rest of the night. Apparently he expected me … Read how I did it…

How I did it: When I was in Costa Rica on a school trip earlier this year, we rode horses up to Nayauca Waterfall and it was gorgeous. Some of my friends started climbing up this high rock to dive. Too scared to do it alone, I talked two of my best friends into doing the jump with me. It was amazing! Read how I did it…

How I did it: I was at my favorite waterfall, and I saw a couple of people diving off of this cliff. It was not that high, probably about 20 feet. To the right of where they were diving I saw a little ledge at about 35 feet. Further examination revealed another ledge at about 60 feet on the rock face beside the waterfall. As I looked at I realized that with a little work I could probably make it up there. It took me about … Read how I did it…

How I did it: Ten years ago, a guy I liked and I were having a picnic date. We were eating near the edge of a cliff that jutted out over this gorgeous lake in North Carolina. He suggested jumping into the lake, and even though I'm afraid of heights, I wanted to impress him, so I agreed. It was awesome, in the truest sense of the word. Holding hands, we ran and took a flying leap off the cliff into the lake. I don't know how high up it was, but I d… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I went on a Trip to British Columbia with my bestfriend, and we went boating. We Came up to this 40 foot cliff clear of rocks, and decided to go cliff diving. We climbed all the way up to the top of the rock, and everyone was scared. I didn't want to seem like a wimp so i ran and jumped. It was so much fun. Read how I did it…

When I went white water rafting we got to jump off HUGE rocks. But I want to go to a real cliff and just dive into the water. I think it would be such a rush!

happening this weekend?! i don’t want to chicken out. don’t let me!
Last night my brother in law called me and asked if I wanted to go cliff diving. I said YES!!! So we went out to an abandoned quarry in MN, and we dove right in. There are many heights to jump from, from 10 ft to 120 ft. I took a few small ones and then tried from the 57 ft mark. WWWOOOOOOWWWW What a rush! It took me half an hour to get the courage up to do it, but this is definitely fun. Keep your legs closed and arms at your sides, straight in feet first!!!!My 12 yr old went from the 20ft and my 9yr from the 15. LOADS of fun.
But serious cliff diving, not the wimpy 5 ft. jump off of a rock. It’s the most liberating, most satisfying, most insane feeling in the entire world. Maybe this should alarm me, this unnatural adrenaline fix of mine, but I have been wanting to experience it ever since I took the first leap in Hawaii. And I want to go higher.
It is an unbelievable feeling flying through the air. I was writing a long entry describibng my first time and accidently hit the the back button and lost it all.
I will write about it later but this is something worth doing!!
alright, i’m gonna rely on you peeps. i’m a virgin to this, and i admit i’m nervous… so if you could recommend a SAFE spot… that’s all i can really ask for. and PICS PEOPLE! i wanna see gravity at work!
I went last summer at a place called canyon falls, near L’Anse, MI. Truly amazing experience. I’m looking for somewhere near Ann Arbor, MI to do it again, would appreciate any help.
Cliff diving is my absolute favorite “sport” activity. I began jumping off of small bluffs into lakes in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Missouri. My children enjoy the sport as well. My favorite place (so far) is by the dam on Beaver Lake in northwest Arkansas. If you are interested in finding sites where you can try this, please visit this web site: http://www.airabovewater.com , there you will find US and world-wide locations and directions for cliff diving spots as well as other cliff diving information.
I hope everyone who wants to, gets the opportunity to jump and enjoy the air above water! – FlyingO O
I’ve always wanted to just jump of a cliff into the water! I consider myself a bit of a daredevil, but for some reason cliff diving scares me a bit—which makes me want to do it even more. I have no idea where I’d get a chance to do this. This is usually one of them tropical-type outings. But hey, maybe I’ll, um, find a cliff close by…
I think jumping off a waterfall will count just the same. Hehe.
