I can already “parlez-vous un peu de francais,” but I definitely could be doing better. I believe very strongly that it is important to know as many languages as you can, in order to be a better communicator, not only in other languages, but in your own as well.
Especially English, which is such a bastard language. There are so many different languages that came together to make English, and it’s evolved so much, it’s almost become a universal language. So many people learn it, and all around the world it’s becoming more of a requirement for educated people. Almost in the same way that college is becoming necessary, so is English.
So, not only do I want to learn as many languages as possible to build my people and communication skills, I also want to better learn English, and to understand my own bastardized culture more.
