Kite Surf

I was on vacation two years ago and I saw people doing it and I wanted to try it SO BAD! I was embarrassed though…what if I was bad at it or died or got eaten by a shark…hah! Next time I visit the ocean and there is kite surfing going on, I want to try it.

i would love to learn to fly a big kite, and surf it, maybe in asia.

I’ve been trying to get lessons for about 5 years (believe it or now, kite surfing has been around that long!) and I finally went kitesurfing for four days in Hua Hin, Thailand (just like Alpenprinzessin below me! I also would call it “my new obsession” like she does). It was amazing and while I still can’t consistently get upwind, I can get up on the board and cruise almost every try, and get pretty far each time. It was so much fun that I’m going to buy my own gear this summer and spend about two months at the beach in New York to keep kite surfing.

Well, I took some lessons last year in Rhodes, Greece. This year I didn’t have the time, so I hope that next year I’ll fly!

I see people on the beach doing this and it looks fucking wicked! I will try it this summer1

I just went to Grand Haven, MI today to get started. There’s a kite shop there that sells a range of products – Dakine, Rush, etc. I walked in hoping to just talk with a pro in the shop. I walked out with my first trainer kite and a DVD called “Zero to Hero.”

I had plans to get my kite up within the hour, but rain delayed a trip to the beach. Bummer! But I’m looking forward to this whole adventure. It WILL become a reality!

i once said to a friend (talking about Snowboarding) ‘You will never go faster on land without an engine’.

Its the same for kite-surfing and water!! ficking fast man!!! Do it in a nice place and its even better! – pick paradise and your stoked.. 10 out of 10 for fun.

going to boracay tomorrow!!

I’ve really no excuse in not learning to kite surf. I live in Canary Islands and half an hour away from my home there is one of the best places to do this.

But I have to check out what centers there are which will teach me, the costs and finally get some time do some intensive course…

I really want to push this!
