I’ve started maintaining the tire pressure. I get better gas mileage this way and have to replace tires less often. I know that it takes between 32-35 lbs of air for my tires. Whereas, a few weeks ago, I was putting in 40 lbs. I have burnt up engines in the past failing to keep oil in them. :( This last summer a neighbor pointed out that the black smoke stains on my exhaust pipe means the car is burning oil. I thought I smelled something. :( I have to get it smoged this year for registration and the front brakes are starting to squeak. I just replaced the back brakes. (I know, it’s better to replace everything at once and keep it maintained regularly, but I did what I could afford at the time.)
I drive, therefore, I should learn how to fix my own car, right? Mechanics are really expensive and take advantage of women, I think.
