I have been able to do it blowing through a drinking straw for years… it’s the whole clarinet embouchure that trips me up!
The Great Train Race

I performed Ian Clarke’s “The Great Train Race” in front of 300 people. I circular breathed very smoothly for about a minute, and the crowd went wild. It made the piece.

My former music teacher, who was very eccentric by the way, once sat with me alone for an hour to teach me to circular breath. It was an intense session, but at the end I did it for a few seconds! It was a really cool, gratifying feeling, and actually surprised my teacher :) . Unfortunately, I was never able to do it again practicing by myself, and I could never make it happen, and I was never able to get her time again to help me :( Someday though, I want to find someone to help me again. I think that’s the only way to learn – you have to get an expert to help you.

i play it but can’t do the cicular breathing….its hard…i try alot…but its just VERY hard….i will get this down
