Protein shakes make me feel sick and give me bad acid reflux, so I need to eat more protein based food.

It’s more important than working out.

Muscles grow while resting and sleeping, and not eating enough protein means your effort is meaningless.

Lots of tuna, milk and eggs will see me through :)

It was hard at first, but now it’s not so bad. Foods that have helped: high protein cereal and waffles and English muffins for breakfast, egg whites (or eggs), turkey breast, trail mix, protein powder.

i was in the hospital.

and THAT, my friends, was all my doing :D

big problem. 2 years ago

i’m in recovery from an eating disorder, and this is definitely one of my harder points. i have a really rough time adding meat, or any protein, into my meals and it’s really taking a toll on me…especially my energy level.

if anyone has any easy ideas about food prep in order to help my intake, it would be greatly appreciated :)

I have protein shakes…and have a damn good diet..
but want high protein/low carb way of eating.

I never cook meat and have eaten mostly vegetarian my whole life, so I fear protein doesn’t make its way into my meals often enough. Tofu and natto are regular staples in my diet, but I think I might be outweighing them with too many carbs.

My body type naturally prefers protein, but I didn’t find this out until I gained about 3 kilos when I became vegetarian. Since then, I’ve been more conscious of the food types I eat, but lately I feel I’ve gone back to my old ways.

So, here’s to eating more protein, fruits, and veggies!

I’m an apple. Or at least my body type is apple. Every ounce of sugar/carbs I eat accumulates around my middle. Since my body type loves protein, I really need to find a way to add more of it to my diet. Lunch and dinner? Simple. Breakfast, though, is killing me. I like cereal, toast, and other carb-drenched yums for breakfast. My goal is to begin my day with more balance.

cottage cheese with chives- yum 3 years ago

I probably haven’t eaten cottage cheese since i was a child and my mother went on some cottage cheese based diet. It is surprisingly good.

south beach diet? 3 years ago

I have done some research and maybe I’ll try this for a few weeks as I definitely need to eat fewer carbs, and after losing 25 pounds my weight loss has slowed drastically . I’m suspicious , though, of any diet that forbids fruit, even if it is just for a few weeks. I don’t know if I can do this, as I vastly prefer carbs over protein, and I don’t think this is something I could be so strict about for very long. And the changes you can sustain over the long term are the ones that keep weight off.
