I’m so sorry I’m late. I got this invite on time, but alas, lately I’ve been so self-absorbed in my own chaos that it took until today to bless you on your birthday.

I hope that everything is the get go on time for you and that if not, anything late will be a pleasant surprise and will be perfectly on time.

I am sincerely touched that all of you took time from your lives to remember me.

To be honest, I was dreading this birthday—spending it alone since my sweetheart man was not able to be in my city on this day.

However, I felt anything but alone on this day … I had the company of all you wonderful people! I had flowers! I even had cake!!!

Today, I gave myself the best gift of all – time – I stayed home from work and slept, watched the snow fall, and took care of me. My sweetheart man will be home soon enough, and I want my cold gone by then.
