Michael R. is returning to Kansas City
was that someone has subscribed to my recent entries. I don’t know who or why, but hopefully having Teach the Bible as one of my 43 Things has provided fair warning that I find teaching the Bible important. With that warning and with the possibility that my subscriber has some interest, I’ll begin to post comments here that might be instructional.
The first topic (which may go for a long time) will be the parables, as recorded in the gospel of Matthew, told by Jesus about the kingdom of heaven. I choose this because it is what I have been thinnking about for the last four years and I sense that I might have something to offer. A principle of teaching I like is to avoid saying anything that people can discover for themselves. Learning is enhanced when reading is accompanied by some activity. With that in mind I pose a simple question to start: where is the first parable about the kingdom of heaven in the gospel of Matthew? If no one cares, then this thread might die a quick death, but let’s see where this goes.
