He went out running when I did, so we jogged together.

My friend may not go, she doesn`t know yet, but my brother may want to go! He`s the one I borrow my Star Trek Voyager and Battlestar Galactica dvd`s from. I didn`t think he`d like it, but one day I was watching a soccer match at his place (during Euro 2008) and I mentioned it and he reacted…differently than I expected. So I asked him if he might wanna come as well and he does haha. He hasn`t said yes yet, but he seems excited, constantly asking me when the dates were again, followed by some questions about practical details.
fingers crossed
Lori Is playing the 'hurry up and wait' game
I’ve wanted to do this for years! And my mom has just recently announced she does too…and wants to take me to one next year, hopefully the big one in Vegas! I must be rubbing off on her…
I thought of this one a few days ago while youtubing. I`ll try to describe what happened. When I was younger, about 14, I always watched Star Trek and a whole bunch of other tv series. There were conventions, I knew that, but it was never possible for me to go, because these things were never in the Netherlands (and when they were, I did not know about it…). So a few days ago, I suddenly realized: I`m not 14 anymore. I can actually get to London or Bonn if I want to. I can save up the money. I can get there by train if I have to.
It`s weird, because usually I just do these things, but with this one, I was still in my 14-year-old state of mind I guess.
So I sent a text message to a friend, fully expecting her to say she didn`t want to go, because I thought she was sort of over Star Trek, but turns out SHE`s NOT! She liked the idea!
Perhaps I`m still not going, but I`m gonna try and find out how much money it is all gonna cost. It`s in May 2009 so I have a little time to do my research hehe.
Oh and friend, you know who you are ;-).
I really want to do this. I’m a little new to star trek (I suppose it (logically!) depends on whether or not you count 6 months as new!) but what I’ve seen I’ve loved.
Mind you, It may have to wait a few years. I live in Guernsey, a tiny little island just off the coast of France that belongs to England. There aren’t many things to do here, and don’t even think about coming here for a con.
I would call you all a bunch of petaQs, (one of the few klingon words that I know) but it’s not a particulaly nice thing to say!
Live Long and Prosper.
I have never thought about attending a Star Trek Con. I am part of an art and film organization and they are starting the first annual The Final Frontier ConFest, in November 7-8, 2008 in Erie PA. www.thefinalfrontierconfest.com (for those who want to attend a con and live in the surrounding area)
I’m looking forward to the event. I used to watch Star Trek as a child with my brother (forcibly, of course)the only episode I remember is with the tribbles (fuzzy creatures).
This is not something that is on my 100 things to do list but I can definitely place it on my things I have done list.
marezydotes is totally reworking her list.
Yeah, it’s something unique to experience, even if you aren’t a huge fan. Lots of fun, sillyness and cool costumes…stuff to buy, or at least want to buy!
rachaeljean is getting back on track with life!
Every August I get a tad wistful. I don’t want to go to just any con… I want to go to the Big Con In Vegas. Sigh.
Maybe next year, my love. I don’t know what, if anything, I’d dress up as. Who am I kidding, OF COURSE I’m dressing up… hahahahahaha!
