Achieve level 75 in FFXI

I have a couple high level characters. I have yet to get any of them to level 75. I also have to get some of my characters subjobs up to level 37.

I’d love to reach the higher levels in the game. I’ve never even made it to 35 with any character. I just get too eager to change jobs and end up getting sidetracked. But I enjoy playing as SAM, so I may actually stick with that; Lv. 27 as of yesterday. But that means I’ll need to beef up my Warrior, which is only Lv. 15. Aaahhhhh! Oh well, I’m sure I’ll make it someday. I really would like to get artifact armor for a class.

But I finally beat him. I raised Red Mage first. What they don’t tell you – is that the hardest fight against Maat is the Red mage. So I turned around and raised Black Mage…. the second hardest Maat fight. But I finally did it – I’m almost 72 Red Mage, and almost 70 Black Mage. I intend to raise : White Mage, Dancer, Blue Mage, and ninja as well all to 75 eventually. And I do want Maat’s cap!

I hit 75 on WHM. After 4 years ><. And now, I’m crafting and questing. I STILL need help with quests. I STILL end up waiting forever. I started lvling some non-mage subjobs. WHM/NIN is supposed to be hot stuff. First thing I’ll do as WHM/NIN is try to solo an avatar. End game doesn’t look fun, especially with the time decication factor. It seems lvl 75 is for people without real life dedications with the Dynamis and so forth. I like the story in FFXI though, and hope to get rank 10 Bassy soon, along with Sea access. I got Sky! Stuck on Black Coffin for AH. I want Chief Seargeant rank in Assault. All these things could have been done without being 75, so was 75 worth it? Well, it didn’t hurt.

I have got 4 jobs to level 75 in ffxi. I wouldn’t say it was a waste of time- I had lots of fun getting there. It’s the journey not the destination, or something! Actually being 75 lets you do more interesting things with your friends in the game too.

I haven’t played much since hitting 75 which was about the 2nd week of October. I started a static at lvl 30 back in April 2006 and in 6 months leveled to 75. My static consumed my life! We met 3 nights a week and leveled for 3 hours a night. Once i hit 75 I realized how burned out I was that I haven’t done much of anything else with my character. Won’t be joining a Dynamis LS anytime soon. I’m just socializing and farming when I do log in.

I haven’t played in months and I don’t have time to. I don’t even want to make time to because I know how FFXI takes over my life. So right now I am giving up on this, and if I go back to the game maybe I will pursue this goal again.

According to my “playtime” value, this game has consumed an entire year of my life, and then some. The day I achieved level 75, was no different than the day I achieved level 74, or level 60, or level 30. No parties were thrown in celebration. Nobody recognized this invisible talent. Imagine yourself stepping out of your body and looking at yourself as you play ffxi. Subtract the game. Look around for anything tangible resulting from your playtime. Experience an epiphany… You’ve been doing nothing for an entire year.

I have been wanting to come back and I think I may in the next 2 weeks.

I always wanted to make it to the end… But when I got there, it felt like I still hadn’t done enough.
