Motivate my 6 year old daughter to read independently very patiently without getting frustrated, angry or upset with her

and working hard with her on it
Trying to be patient – someimes i wonder – will se ever take a book and read by herself – then i say she is only seven – sit with her patiently – she’ll do it!!!

my daughter read slowly though but with increasing confidence – I ahve stopped critisising her and only praise her for every bit of reading she does. It works!!!

Only that works – She reads quite well now – much better than before :)

I know that any activity is enjoyable only if it is not evaluated and yet I criticise and scold my daughter when she makes mistakes while reading.
The evening was better though – I encouraged her to read the notice that they send from school and praised her when she read it right AND IGNORED her mistakes with an ENCOURAGING smile :) Phew!!

Have to read every night – NO excuses …..

for her as well – An easy one so she is motivated to do more…

that now she can read small stories with a and i sounds! She is also now motivated to read more… may be just about a couple of weeks to go … yeh… :)

quite persistent on this one – I still have a long way to go – not much – just a month or so of persistence and patience and i’ll crack it soon… :) Phew…

Got a little bit upset – but mostly my temper is getting better… :)

She could read ALL three letter phonetic words -phew! Without me losing it!
