I took the Basic Rider Course in 2012. I didn’t pass it, though, because I failed the portion on “sharp turns” (even though I’ve taken physics and I know the forward momentum of the bike will keep it from falling). I have since ridden a scooter up a mountain road in Nepal (what???) and I know I can pass the Basic Rider Course if I can muster up “just 20 seconds of insane courage”. 2 months ago

With the rain and this nightmare job there was really no two ways about it. As soon as I get this out I’m going to reschedule. 6 months ago

to just take the DMV test. I’d planned on taking the skills class but i think I’m just going to take the practical test and take the skills test later if I still want to. I’ve got a couple friends who want to take it too and don’t have the money right now and the days are too short that its too easy to get caught out in the dark.
anyway big step. I can give a list of valid excuses but its stupid its taken me this long. :\ 7 months ago

How I did it: I went to the Motorcycle Safety School, which I highly recommend. All you have to do is get your learners permit at the DMV, and the school takes care of the rest. They have wonderful instructors who will teach you everything that you need to know. They will make sure that you have the skills that you need, that you have respect for your machine and it's dangers, and they will make sure that you understand how to be a safe, skilled rider. And their final test is so difficult that, after you pass it, you get a waiver of the DMV test and there you have it. Your license. Read how I did it… 9 months ago
