Yesterday morning my mother told me I have no faith when I was crying to her over the phone about some ridiculous proposed legislation that could see my brother and loads of other farmers randomly losing their farms. Last night I phoned her and told her if she had to sift through all the news that I have to in a day, she wouldn’t have any faith left in God either…

I’m sorry Compassionist – in this country, it takes every ounce of energy one has to just get through the day. I know that you suffer greatly, but I sometimes feel that you snap at people who want to support and encourage you. That is not an excuse for giving up on this goal however… I’m giving up because I have to focus on surviving in South Africa.
