I hope your Dad is doing better. Any word from the Doctors yet on the mass? 5 years ago

nicolasc - spring has sprung!I've been off and on here, so I'm late joining in,

but I’ll keep your dad in my thoughts and prayers. Hope he is feeling all right in spite of it all. 5 years ago

OogyboogawaThanks again everyone

Sorry I haven’t had internet access for a few days. Went home for a visit(plus there’s a group in from Chicago that I’d been planning to visit this weekend even before I knew about the surgery).

My dad is doing very well. He’s still a little sore, but is recovering fast. He was feeling well enough that he was able to preach at his church yesterday, so that was nice. Still no word on the mass, they said 10-14 days though, and I think he’s got another appointment sometime for a followup.

So far though, everything seems to be good. I can’t express how much I appreciate everyone’s support. 5 years ago

OogyboogawaWow

I can’t describe how it feels to come home and see all of this.

I’ve got mostly good news.

The surgery was delayed this morning because they had two emergency surgeries before the surgeon started his scheduled surgeries. So he started a couple hours late, but once they got started apparently everything went pretty smooth. They did end up having to take out more of the surrounding tissue than they expected, so he’s going to be sore for a while and have to be careful because he’ll be more susceptible to hernias. The surgeon and pathologist weren’t able to tell if it was benign or malignant, which is a good sign. They are going to send it off and have some tests done before we will know for sure though.

He was feeling a little nauseous and is a bit dehydrated, so they want to keep him overnight to take care of the hydration and make sure the nausea goes away. Neither one is severe though and both are pretty common.

Anyway, I’m gonna head back now, I just had to come get some of his normal medicine(for blood pressure and such) to see if the nurses want him to take it or not. 5 years ago

New IsabellaDear Oogy,

You said in an entry you made the other day that God is a very personal God, who comprehends your path and your lying down, who is aquainted with all your ways, and who knows you better than you know yourself. I pray that throughout this day, you, your dad, and your entire family have known God’s presence and felt God’s caring, and that you continue to do so in the hours and days to come. 5 years ago

AlaythiaHey Oogy!

You and your family have been on my mind a lot today. I’m praying for wisdom and skill for the surgeons, that the mass they’re removing will be benign, little pain and a quick recovery for your father, and peace and comfort for you and your family. May God wrap his arms around you and bring you His peace during this difficult time. ((((Hugs)))) 5 years ago

Dreamer~I believe

That no matter what, your Dad is in the Hands of Love. God knows our prayers before we ask them and grants perfect healing. I trust that your Dad is in the best care possible. He already has a great son, look at you. May he and your family have all the peace, love and healing you desire~ 5 years ago

MamaKittyYou and your family

are in my thoughts and prayers today, and for as long as you need. May God’s healing blessing pour over your entire family, the surgeons, the doctors, the nurses and everyone else whose hands He uses to facillitate your Dad’s healing. Amen 5 years ago

flutter is full of wonderthis verse kept coming to mind as I was praying

Isaiah 43:1

“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!”

John
I admire your Dad greatly, you are very lucky to have a father that loves you like he does and has raised you in the wisdom of the Lord, who has give his life to serve others for Christ.

As much as you love him, God loves him more …

((((hugs)))) 5 years ago
