The wiper blades are worn out on my Chevy.
This would not be a big deal, except that at $40 a pair they represent about 10% of the value of the car, and that at the same time the front breaks need replacing, the head gasket is leaking, the exhaust manifold is gone, there is a leak in the gas tank, a CV joint is about to wear out. It takes a gallon of coolant a week, oil is leaking, (gas leaks if I put more than half a tank in) and something seems to be burning under the hood that I haven’t quiet put my finger on yet.
Oh, yeah; the ‘plates are up for renewal. $75 seems like a bad investment at this time.
My dogs hate riding in this car. Sometimes I can see them weighing how much they want to head out for a walk at the government forest against how much they hate riding in the Chev. (Considering that we live in a city that exists to build GM cars their import preference is a bit embarrasing.)
Every ride in the Chev feels like it may be my last but buying a new car is not the kind committment I want to make right now.
What I need is a deal.
