I had my hair really long, but I dance a lot, and I go to festivals in the summer so it was really annoying. I donated 12 inches to Locks of Love, and got it cut to my shoulders with layers. Now it’s a lot less high-maintenance because I don’t have to brush it 3 times a day.

yeah, it takes a while.
but it’s totally worth it because it looks gorgeous, and it’s fun to play with.
I had my hair to my lower back and then it was so damaged I got 7 inches taken off and now its at my shoulders.
If you want your hair this long take really good care of it and try and forget straighteners.
definatly worth doing! it looks really feminine, but make sure its layered to stop it looking bland. also, your hair must be in good condition so get it trimmed every so often (this doesnt slow down the process of it growing fast) and slap an intensive conditioner on every so often. you can use extensions to create this look but the real thing is soo much better! my hairs been long for years now, and people who have to wear extensions all the time envy it so much! =] x
I went without more than a trim for four years and got my hair about to my waist. Having long hair was great but I did reach a point where I needed and wanted to get it cut. I got roughly six inches off a month ago, so it’s about shoulder-length now. I loved having really long hair, but in the end I was just too low-maintenance to really care.
Sure, it takes a while, it took two years from my shoulder-length cut to get it down to my lower back (it’s at about the small of it now). It makes you special in a way because face it…most people don’t have the patience. It’s a bitch to take care of it at times (dyeing your hair? Buy 2 or 3 bottles honey), but the benefits outweigh the work.
Shampoo is meant for the scalp, not the hair, so a quarter-sized dollop really will do the job, even on long/thick hair: it is somewhat concentrated, so the run-off as it is being rinsed out will clean the rest of your hair adequately. Use conditioner every time but avoid the scalp and instead focus on the ends, which get less (but need more) moisture. If you have any curl to your hair at all, moisturize more and use wide-toothed combs instead of brushes—it’ll save you frustrating frizz. Finally, for every two days you give yourself a fabulous ‘do, there will be twenty when you rake a comb through, throw it into a quick out-of-the-way ponytail/clip, and run out the door cussing about knots.
it was really short about 5 months ago when i last had it cut. It was about 3 inches above my shoulders. And now it has grown to about 3 inches below my shoulders! in 5 months! not bad eH!? I plan on keeping the length the same but I want my shorter layers cut back in. I miss sticking a load of wax on and spiking the top layers up! and as for colour well my roots are awful. I should really decide whether to go back to my natural colour, stick with this dark brown, or go peroxide blonde. hmmmmmm…. any suggestions??
It was nice to have longhair but its boring. Very heavy and cant do much with it. Ill tell you though, when I cut it to about my bra strap, I loved it. Took me about 3 years to grow it to my belt.
