The only problem I have with cleaning my room is getting myself to do it. I mean, it doesn’t seem important so I just push it to the side of the things I want to do on my list, but lately it’s been stressing me out that I haven’t started it yet.

Right now at the dorm my rooms gets messy, but its beginning to be only clothes and schools papers that get in the way. My room is very small, but everything has its place and once it gets put away, my room is normal again. One thing I do need to do however is finish with the newspapers that mom gave me. I can go through them at my leisure, which is not often so they do pile up. Since they are temporary, the only way I can keep them organized and out of the way is is a shopping bag. The rest of the papers I brought from home to organize are for the scrapbook. Now that they are sorted into a scrapbook pile, I need to separate them by year, track down stuff from the rest of each year, then purge by deciding what I actually want to go in my book.
Home -
- Continue putting craft things in the proper category box
- Get CD Stereo in car to pawn
- Continue boxing things I want to decorate with when I am married
- Put decorations for new room in a box away from everything else
- Put all vintage things for etsy out of the way in the closet
- Put cloud sheets and comforter on bed, after washing them
- Use the lavender side of silk coverlet on the bed
- Look at frames and start deciding how to decorate with each one
- Make sure to keep suitcases under bed for Will to use
- Bring pink sheets back to school to use
I’m sure there is plenty more, but this will keep me busy for more than Thanksgiving!

My room is so messy that I can’t stand to be in there. Every time I go into my bedroom I feel really embarassed. I have so many things, and I don’t look after anything or respect my things. If I did my room wouldn’t be an absolute mess. The thought of sleeping in there with all that clutter horrifies me. I want to clean it but it seems too overwhelming, and something always comes up and it just doesn’t get done. I’ve been sleeping on the lounge for 2 weeks because I can’t stand my own mess. Pathetic isn’t it. I used to be so tidy I don’t know what happened.
I could start cleaning it now, but I have uni exams this week I need to study for… guess I’ll get around to it sometime :?

This is where that made bed comes in handy. If you have a lot of clothes to refold or rehang you can neatly stack them on your bed to remind you to fold them later. This saves you a little time now, keeps the room looking neat, and makes sure you will be reminded to fold them before trying to crawl into bed.
Easy! I don’t have any clothes that need to be folded now!

If making the bed seems like a waste of time, humor me. Smooth out the sheets. Smooth out the blanket or comforter. Fluff your pillows. Stand back and take a quick look at the bed. It looks much neater, not necessarily better, just neater. On the plus side, you’re not as likely to loose things in your bed when it’s neat.
Ah, poor cat. Gotta get him off my bed. He looks so peaceful though… I got him off! I feel like a terrible person now. Oh, right! The bed! I have to make my bed!

Don’t worry about anything but trash right now. Pick up all the obvious trash and throw it in the can.
That was easy. There was just a handful of wrappers left over from halloween.

I know the dirty clothes in your room are probably near the hamper, but we want to actually put them in the hamper. Don’t worry about unfolding your socks or turning clothes right side out. We’ll do that when we sort out the laundry.
Great timing! My mom told me to put my dirty clothes in the hamper just as I got to this step.

You may already have a hamper, trash can, or toy box in your room. Use the list below to gather the things you need to clean your room. Don’t begin cleaning until you have all of your supplies in your room. Trying to find supplies one at a time is a waste of time.
I’m not going to do this step. I’m going to focus on actually cleaning before I dust and wipe down stuff.

NattyM wants to preserve the written word in a non-electronic way.
I don’t know why…but I have this feeling that tomorrow when I wake up, I am going to wake up with this deep desire to clean! Wellll, I’m hoping the desire will be there anyway :) It would be nice to be able to get my room clean by monday in time for my birthday. what a nice birthday present! I can’t even remember the last time I could walk into my room without having to hop around to get to my desired location.
