Vacation on a Tropical Island

With money going to many other things amd the fact that we will hopefully be moving into a new house in fall/early winter, this goal will have to wait until at least 2010.

I’m leaning towards Bora Bora…maybe in the fall/early winter?

I want:
an all over tan.
to swim in the ocean.
to feel the sand beneath my feet
to feel a tropical breeze on my skin
to take a lover with me
to have uninhibited friends
to eat grilled fish & drink mai tais

I finally did it, after being stuck in a typhoon for a couple days. Very nice. I love the beach and there was plenty deserted stretch of sand for everyone. Lots of tropical flora, and a bright hot sun. I got a good tan for spending mere hours outside. And all in October, too!

Bodysurfing is great. It’s greater when Chinese people try to get the hang of it.

I have always wanted to do this, but despite all my travels, I have yet to do so! I almost went to the Bahamas with a girlfriend, but it didn’t end up materializing—we were both poor and busy.

The closest I’ve been to them are Catalina Island near California and the Isle of Capri off the coast of Italy. Both were very nice, but certainly not the tropical zone.

Next week I think I will have my chance—I am going to Hainan Island off the coast of southern China. Atypical, but tropical nonetheless! I am excited to see what it’s like.

I love the beach. Jamaica, Aruba, St. Thomas, Fiji, even Hawaii, it could be any place.
