that my husband & I were out on a date at an incredibly cute little bar/pizza place a couple of weeks ago (tangent: I loooooooovvee it that smoking is no longer permitted in Chicago bars!), & in the midst of an animated conversation a hand was flung out expressively & knocked over a tall wineglass, which of course held red wine, which poured across the table & splashed flamboyantly on my white sweater in several places.
I thought I could get it out with boiling water, but it didn’t come out (I may have waited too long so that it set). The spots just turned a dull grayish blue. Then I tried a special solution for removing wine stains; it didn’t do much.
So I thought, I could disguise the stains with dye. This sweater’s style is really nice, but its ivory whiteness had never worked very well for me. A dark color would be better.
It’s now a rich brown! And I’m about to go take it out of the washer & hang it to dry. I think the stains are pretty much obliterated; even if they’re not, they won’t be noticeable. Yay!
