rosewilderI am so frustrated with my work.

If I had the money, I would quit my job, go back to grad school, and start over in a new field. I have completely lost my enthusiasm for this. I’m not adding value to anything anymore.

I will have to start seriously brainstorming what I can do about this. I may start by better defining and narrowing this goal. I don’t have the money to quit my job or even go back to grad school part time. So what can I do as an alternative to bring some joy or meaning into what I do for a living?

I realized the other day that I really missed teaching face to face college classes. That held meaning and joy for me. But my college gigs have dried up, and really didn’t bring in enough money to live on anyway.

Sigh. 6 months ago

energyFrequent Flyer

Frequent Flyer awards are definitely the key to this! I travel for work almost every month, so they add up fast.

Friend’s birthday ski trip to Tahoe & my vacation fund is tiny. No problem. I have 2 free round trips. Use one for me and one for the boyfriend. In exchange, boyfriend buys my lift ticket and my share of hotel room. Win Win and party. 18 months ago

This isn’t quite the same, but…I have certain problems on my mind (being cheated by clients) and the actions I need to take in response and to safeguard myself. But I can choose to ignore it from time to time, in favour of managing my finances “as if” those problems did not exist. 21 months ago

energyRevisiting my orignial list

I’d live in an awesome neighborhood in Portland
I’d go back to school and be constantly learning
I’d travel. A lot.
I’d live the healthy lifestyle that feels currently out of reach due to monetary issues: yoga classes, organic foods, a gym membership
I’d snowboard more
I’d support the planet in all my purchases
I’d invest in things I believe in2 years ago
