sort out my superannuation

I set out to do this over a year ago but I never did get to do anything. I’ve already received letters from some of my super places telling me they’ve put my money into “unclaimed super”. All I need to do is ensure I sort out this current super account I have since it has the most money.

I suck at this :(

Well I’ve done my bit anyways. Compiled all the info required and sent it by email. Will pester them if I don’t get a response shortly. So I’m going to call this goal done! :) hooray for 43Things, otherwise I could have taken a few more months to get around to it…

I have two funds that need to be merged. The fund that I am trying to exit from was set up by a previous employer. I tried to sort this out once before, last year. I received a letter from the fund(after my repeated calls to them over 3 months!) saying they required some more documentation. So I will collect the documents they require so I can get my funds outta there! Once I have tied up this loose end I will feel most happy. I had a horrid experience overall at that former workplace. When I have sorted out my super I will be able to move on and forget that old employer ever existed… :)

This is something that I need to do now for the benefit of my financial future. I have 7 different funds and need to roll them all into my current superannuation fund.
I’m happy to say that I have already got the forms and filled them all out. All I need to do is get all the other documentation to prove who I am and then get it all signed by a JP and sent away. Sounds easy. Just need a kick up the backside to get me moving.

I DEFINITELY need to sort this out before I move to the US. So that when I come back to retire here in Australia in some 40 years, I can come home with HEAPS of Super Money! WooHoo!

Now that I’m back to becoming a public servant for the SA Government, I can go back to putting my super into Super SA. Yay! I’m very happy about this because they have great benefits with Super SA (& it’s only for SA Govt employees).

I guess the only headache is still trying to organise all the other ones to go to Super SA. Really must get that done sometime in the next 2 days. I just wonder how I go about doing so…

I actually sorted out PART of my Super this week. I handed the form to my boss. Now all I have to do is Rollover the other 45257893672 Superannuation forms so that all of them can be consolidated into ONE!

I may sort this out tomorrow…if I don’t get distracted by the Internet that is.

I dropped by the Statewide Superannuation office in the City this morning & the lovely Angela (who also had the same birthday as me!) gave me all the necessary forms I need to get all this sorted out. How’s that for service?

Now it’s up to me to organise the rest…send it off & viola! Super is done!

I’m such a lazy ass that I think I’m just going to go with Statewide Superannuation.

My plan was to transfer all of my different Superannuation Memberships to my Super SA fund. Well, went to the Super SA office on Friday & found out that because they’re a “special” SA Government Superannuation Fund, I am unable to bring in my other funds into them (since I’m no longer with the Govt.) :( So denied.

Now I have to go choose another of my other funds & transfer not only my Super SA fund, but also the others too. Oh, how much fun that would be.
