take a train across the United States

After a break up I took a train from the west to the east. It was actually nicer than I thought it would be. Make sure you have the $ to treat yourself to meals and be prepared to dine with strangers. The staff is good at seating you with people you’ll like. I didn’t have the $ for a sleeping car but there were so few others on the train that it was roomy and private. This was a more pleasant experience than the bus, and a little old lady even gave me her crossword.
