They’re my favourite fruit. I love them!

eat them in private, or with someone you won’t be embarrassed with cause you will be spittin’ seeds all over.

that, or you’ll be picking them out of your mouth, which is unsexy.

or you could nibble around the seeds… which is lame because there is little pomegranate as is! pfft.

Complicated but good 3 years ago

The fruit is pretty good and the seeds are meant to be chewed right with the rest of it… but to each their own… i’m just not fond of the “scooping” process… Good, but sometimes i think not worth the energy put into it before eating…

Pomegranates. Good but hard to find. 3 years ago

Hard to eat also. But really good.

pomegranates are complicated. 3 years ago

    A. They’re complicated to eat. The seed-to-fruit ratio is very high. They’re messy.

    B. They’re symbolically complicated. They seem to be connected with innocence, with connection to the Underworld, and with consummation of adult sexuality, all at once. They’re tied in with the myth of Persephone and Hades. The seeds are representative of male seed. They remind me of my youth. They’re really nice to look at and not always available. (All of the preceding statements are NOT directly connected to each other, in case you were getting on the phone to Child Protective Services.)

While pomegranate juice tastes good too, it’s definitely cheating.

    tastes like plant!

They are delicious when they're fresh & ripe 3 years ago

Sadly most of the ones you get in the store are not very ripe. You have to at least go to a farmer’s market for decent ones. My parents have a pomegranate tree, so I always thought that they were obvoiusly something everyone knew about. Supprised me when I found out many people had never tried one. They’re the perfect “project food” you can spend a whole afternoon eating a couple of them.

The work is worth it, they’ve got a very distinct taste, almost cranberry-like. I want to try pomegranate juice as an alternative to what I normally drink sometime.
