Stopped by Niagara Falls around the end of October 2009. Goat Island is a small land mass that kinda separates the Canadian Falls from the US Falls. Some of the best views are from the Island. It is an interesting way to study the water as it approaches the big drop. The night we were there it started to snow so we wrapped up in coats and gloves stopped by the hotel lobby had a hot chocolate and a hot chocolate chip cookie, then strolled down to the falls. What a beautiful and surreal experience. although it was rather cold for us Texans, I wouldn’t trade that time for anything. Another interesting fact about Goat Island are its black squirrels that evolved from a limited breeding source and diet. Although there are some major problems with the surrounding cities the falls themselves are incredible it is such a shame that greed and “progress” had to interfere and diminish the overall effect the Falls could have had. The US side looks like a demilitarized zone and the Canadian side looks like a cheap carnival set. 2 months ago

How I did it: I contacted kings tours in Toronto, Canada. They had a day trip for $79. It takes you to an ice winery, the maid of the mist boat ride to the bottom of the thundering niagara falls, to the town of niagra on the lake, the botanical clock, the areocar and the whirlpool in the niagara river and back to Toronto. They pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.
For $29 more they would leave me in Niagara Falls and fetch me on a different day. They would also take me back to a different hotel. One by the airport, so really, that saved me money as it cost more to get the shuttle to the airport from my Toronto hotel. ~I had decided I was planning my trip around easy transportation this time.~
On the trip back, the tour group was smaller. We stopped at a different ice winery, where I bought ice wine. It is very, very sweet.

that will pick me up from my toronto hotel, force me to stop at a winery along the way, take me to niagara and include a ride on maid of the mist and then drop me at a hotel of my choosing and then bring me back to the toronto airport whatever day I want. Plus, they will bring me back to any hotel. Naturally, I won’t choose the one I stayed at close to the Cirque du Soleli, I’ll choose on at the airport, saving additional transportation costs. Nice!
That is awesome.
Next, decide how long this part of the trip is so I can book airfare. 11 months ago

not only because it is coupled up with the newest cirque du soleli and my newest friend in Canada, but because I won’t take any more trips anywhere… even out of my house… until I know I have a job beyond june 2013.
This will need to be my last joyous expenditure. Even bowling will be hacked from the budget as pennies aren’t simply pinched but made to howl and scream with uncertainty. poor, poor pennies. poor, poor pennies. 13 months ago
