Yeah right… Who in their right mind would pay for a haircut where the barbers do a shoddy job? And they cost an outrageous amount of money just to a job that should be cheaper based on thier performance? Plus, how difficult can it be to cut hair?
Unfortunately for clients, they think they are getting what they pay for: not always! Sometimes what makes a stylist command more money for a haircut is just the amount of classes they’ve taken. I HAVE NEWS FOR ALL OF YOU! I could take 50 haircutting classes in one month and if I don’t have the knack, or “the gift” I JUST DON’T HAVE IT with or without the classes. Not to toot my own horn (but beep beep) I do have the knack. I’m a stylist in Western CT and you should all see some of the things I see walk out of a salon.
Back to the matter at hand: Try it! Even if you only try it once. Although, you are bound to be hooked on the experience :)
If you want a shorter style with layers, spend more money. I pay $50 for a hair cut and it’s so worth it because the service is great and the results are great. A complimentary neck and shoulder massage is part of the visit, which is a relaxing thing for me.
Was definitely worth it, my hair looks a lot healthier and is really nice and shiny. I now have it in a side parting instead of a centre parting and I think it suits me better. Got it done by the top stylist at my local Toni & Guy salon and it cost £34.00. Not as much as I was expecting, but more than I normally pay. Still, I guess it’s not bad seeing as I have a whole new look now! And my hair smells yummy!
next Wednesday for a re-style, I actually managed to find a picture of the style I like so here’s hoping I will suit my new look!
I have long hair and absolutely HATE going to the hairdresser’s. I only go about once a year and my hair is normally in a terrible state by that time. My hair has undergone a lot of punishment lately as I’ve home-dyed it three times and use straighteners all the time. I think it’s about time I started taking better care of my hair, and I’m gonna kickstart that by getting myself a stupidly expensive haircut. The theory is that if I spend so much on getting it cut and styled nicely then I will have to look after it as not to waste my money. Hmm. Hopefully they will manage to do something nice with it. Haven’t decided what look I’m going for yet, so will get this done in the next 6-8 weeks once I’ve had time to make up my mind.
The price does not add to the vague. The skill of the hairdresser is the most important thing about the haircut.
Frannie Girl is heading off with her hubby for a few hours of relaxation.
After 20+ years of searching for somebody to consistantly cut my hair well I finally found him about 6 years ago. He owns his own salon and is definitely pricy, BUT…my hair has never looked better and I’ve never felt better. Funny how a simple thing as a haircut can make such a big difference. If you can afford it, go for it!
My hair really was very long; a lot was on the floor, all over me, and in my coffee.
Was it worth it? I think so:
- Stylist was cute as hell (though married);
- Nice environment;
- I was happy that she paid attention to what I asked;
- Nothing was a problem;
- Got a nice head massage;
- I was in a good mood when I went in, and still in a good mood when I left.
I’m not quite used to it yet, I keep thinking my head is going to float away. There’s a couple of things I might change for next time, but it sure as hell looks better than it did on Thursday!
