week 20 4 days ago

I’m changing format – I want to see a cumulative effort plus focus on major goals.

This week – cook soup twice; weight loss; Pilates; CPA and decluttering and go to bed before 11pm.
Change and getting out of comfort zone, and saying yes to all invitations—need to think on how to incorporate it more.
1. Pass the CPA exam
week 20—great 2 hrs on Ch. 4 last Sunday (finally understood transactions), kept working on Ch4, almost 200 questions done.
week 19—spent 35 minutes listening to lecture on Internal controls and 35 minutes doing questions. I need to re-up effort by like a hundred times.
2. Declutter.
week 20. none
week 19 I spent 3 weeks sending packages home, and then— one trip to the store, and I’m back to square one. And nobody at home is even glad to have my presents, so should I stop it altogether?
week 18 – 2 bags in the goodwill. appartment cleaned.
3. Friends.
week 20. met with Michael s, drove with Jane H. to Hartford.
week 19. had a great time with MJ and PP. Got a heavyweight on linkedin.
week 18. went to a company party, met with Jane S. twice.
4. Greencard
week 20 – prepared economic report for Monday meeting. I need to keep doing it, I guess. Need to work on a trip to Canada.
week 19 good webcast from DT on recruiting. do i need to put more time into it?

week 19 Instead missed a great presentation on time management.
6. Take advantage of NY.
so far this year we went once to see a play (August in Osage County), once to US Open, once to Carnegie Hall (Berliner Philarmonic) and a bunch of times to movies (I wonder - was it multiple times this year??..Seems like I tend to go only when I’m totally devastated. The most recent one - “Coco before Chanel” was after mom/max bamms.) Next on the list is Met Opera on 12/31—need to make it!!!
7. Try 15 new recipes in 2009
nothing new cooked this week. However, I should use this combination of tuna salad/tomato to bring to Petya.
1) risotto w/asparagus

4) tomatoes with eggs (inside)
5) ham dip – keeper

Guess I need to update goals. Some of them are just not interesting/meaningful. And as usual Paretto is right – 20% of goals requie 80% of efforts and visa versa.
For New Year, I just need to combine all ET stuff in one or two goals.
This week – cook soup twice; weight loss; Pilates; CPA and decluttering and go to bed before 11pm.

1. Pass CPA exam – worked a little bit on FAR, and submitted record to Becker.
2. Declutter—worked on Sunday.

Other than that, just very busy in the midst of perfect storm.

Week 16 1 month ago

: did not do anything except for taking care of my hair. Looks good. And I finally can wear shoes after surgery.
So, will try to:
-Get up earlier/give myself more time to get ready
-Plan ahead (outfits)
-Organize wardrobe (closet, dresser drawers)
-Have a “laundry” day (maybe Mondays) and just get it all over with

prior week – went to class on Sunday. worked on Chapter 7 on Thursday. Current Week – Sunday 7 pages from Chapter 5 Audit. Changed exam to date to 11/15.

did not do anything except for printing out ADP.

Need to:
- clean the kitchen and spices cabinet.
- clean the table
4. see my family in 2009
need to send a parcel today
had a very good conversation with Mul. God, how I missed him all these years. well, it turned that mul’s wife is 5 months pregnant, and they forgot to tell me, so I cried for 2 days. Got an email.
5. get a green card
I need to talk to P/.about that.
6. Get ADD under control7. have children

some “success” but I did not quantify it. That f-n “suck-sess” was + 4 lbs instead. So, it goes to loose 13 lbs now.

need to enter them the queu for Netflix. (entered 4-5 last week)

bought tickets for 2 events. Now need to make sure that we go.

Found a place/decided on time. Now need to advance on certain pre-requisite.
43. Keep a tradition – go to MetOpera on 12/31
Bought tickets, so now I need to make sure that we go.

Why do I have so much trouble with this? I’m determined to at least write something about each of my 11 goals currently tagged “review weekly.”

Daily: Reflect on 5 things for which I’m grateful
Made an entry today, my first since October 1. It’s hard for me to do this daily, but I’d be happy to do it at least once a week. It almost always makes me feel better after I’ve taken just a few moments to reflect and then made a gratitude entry here.

purge my files
This goal seems to have become more urgent after discovering what my cats did to my cardboard storage boxes. Can I go through at least one box and purge it this week?

hem
Sigh. I’ve had my skirt with the lining hem pinned and ready to be hemmed all summer long, lying on the ironing board right behind the chair where I’m sitting. It’s a good skirt for autumn. Maybe I can remember to work on it this week, before autumn turns into winter.

Stick to my Flylady routines like glue
Well, I posted some cleaning missions for the kitchen last week, and then barely worked on clearing off the countertop. I think I’ll give my kitchen zone missions another try this week. At least I did vacuum on Monday. Yay!

take care of myself—eat right, sleep, exercise
This goal needs constant attention. I’m trying to eat better, and that’s why I made a goal to make more soup. Between the rain and my walking buddy’s busier schedule, I’ve been slacking off on exercise too. And I’ve been steadily been getting later to bed and later to rise. Maybe some kind of daily chart would help.

Each morning write down 3 goals for Today
Last week I wrote 2 entries under this goal, and that was a helpful start in making some progress last week. Today I’m still working on one of yesterday’s daily goals, ie, writing this very entry reviewing my goals.

Keep on paying my bills on time
This goal isn’t even on my current goal list, but it’s an important thing to keep doing on an on-going basis. I made some important progress lately by getting my taxes filed and paid, but I need to pay some more bills this week.

Clear the Deck
This goal is just keeping the major hotspots as clear as possible. I’ve got work to do on my desk and in the kitchen on the table and the countertop. And after the recent episode with my cats, it would pay to really work hard on keeping all paper clutter put safely away and out of their reach.

Sort through Christmas decorations
This goal has been lingering for a long time with no progress, but a week from next Saturday a friend got me a table at her apartment complex “garage sale”. A great opportunity to get rid of a lot of this stuff before another Christmas rolls around. Maybe someone else can get some use out of it!

Clean the rug
This new goal is at the top of my list, and yet I’m still trying to decide exactly how to go about it. Gotta make a decision, and get moving.

I’ve just discovered why I procrastinate about this goal. It’s exhausting to think of all the things that I want and need to do.

I kind of have a chance to stop for a second and look at myself in the mirrow. OMG. And they say as I used to be pretty. Crap. Anyway.

10. Kidnap the cheer fairy and have a stern talk with her about the (un)availability of cheers when I need them – I fear the cheer fairy has fallen under the spell of the Dread Pirate

13. lose 5 pounds – meh, you try losing weight while travelling in the united states! you want fries with that?
