Time for a complete checkup! It has been several weeks since I last posted. This is atypical because usually I am pretty good with keeping the reviews up and that has been very helpful so far. Now with the vacation in between and the craziness before that, some time has passed. Goals have come and/or gone, etc. The current list holds 33 goals – a low number for me. Let’s see what they do now and if more should be added.
1: Start a novel – This week as I was travelling on the train (2.5 hours) I checked some of the stuff on my computer and I found a very short start somewhere. Striking thing was that I still like it! I may work from this.
2: Take a photo every day – So far so good. Must upload some pictures from these past days but will do that when I get home (as I am now at work… Friday pace). I liked uploading the pictures from my Japan trip. That was fun.
3: Do more yoga – No yoga done. I had the opportunity to go yoga with the Buddhist monks in Nikko but the session started at 7 and I am just not alive yet at that hour.
4: Gummy bear goal – Two more gummy bears met their sticky end in Japan, one in Nagasaki and one in Hagi, but I have yet to upload the pictures and short videos. This means that I have only two more gummies to go!
5: Be the change I would want to see in this world – Reminder.
6: Keep a journal here – Not so much. This goal is really to have a kind of public board for posting stuff that is on my mind – but more personal than the ‘post random thoughts’ goal. I have added the goal of keeping a one-sentence journal for daily reflections.
7: Review goals weekly – Will do this weekly again. :)
8: List three things every day that make me happy – Haven’t done this in a while, will do it again. Not a priority though in the list I want to do on a daily basis.
9: Complete ‘wreck this journal’ – I really should complete this!
10: Post a six word essay every day – Not daily but still regularly. I like this goal, also to keep up with what is occupying other people.
11. Complete the two hundred sit-ups challenge – Not started yet. I am considering doing this on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday since Mon-Wed-Fri is not really going to work.
12: Photograph answers to 20 questions about me – No progress. I should give this some thought and maybe even start over. Make a project of it.
13: See and experience more art – In the past weeks I have seen temples and shrines and beautiful objects to last me a lifetime. :)
14: Do the 10 things in 10 days challenge – No challenge set.
15: Meditate every day for 43 days – Haven’t tried. Currently I feel little need or urge for meditation. Maybe later.
16: Release my books on bookcrossing – Nah. Not even in Japan, although I did encounter a bookcrossing zone in Nagasaki. Too bad I didn’t have any books to cross yet. Must get rid of the current stack I have at home though.
17: Budget – Ahahahahaaa! No, I did not really budget lately. Having spent two weeks travelling and stuff. :D
18: Listen to gut feelings and go with what I think is true to me – Doing this. Works.
19: Do more home cooking – Getting back into this. The (organic) tomato salad I made yesterday was pretty good.
20: Kidnap the cheer fairy – Ahahahahaaa! I recently received the perfect tools for this job. Will make a serious attempt next time the opportunity (or necessity) presents itself.
21: Make music again – No. Would like to though. I was a bit bummed when I found three guitars in the hostel in Nikko and was still unable to play. If only I’d learned…
22: Post random thoughts – Now and then, yes.
23: Exercise at my own pace and level and cheer others on! – Haven’t exercised unless you count lugging a huge backpack around Japan.
24: File my taxes – Aaaaalmost did yesterday but failed.
25: Lose 5 pounds – Really no idea how I’m doing. Must check this out when I get home. Actually thinking of doing some WiiFit stuff this evening so I’ll weigh myself then.
26: Engage the mail snail on a weekly basis – Hey, even sent stuff from Japan!
27: Make a list of household chores and do them – No list made. Decided I need professional help with the household, both of us having fulltime jobs now and the budgies making a complete mess.
28: Make more soup – No soup made, obviously, since I was away. But I’m keeping this goal on because I like soup and I would like to make loads of it so I can put it in the freezer and surprise myself with it when I feel like having some soup and then opening my own freezer and finding some delicious home-made.
29: Have a little mascot travel the world for me – Hmmm, must check this out to see how Croc is doing. The Pirate was having a blast in Japan and will visit Cyprus soon.
30: Learn how to play guitar – See story about ‘make music again’ above (goal 21). Sad.
31: Supercheer – Hurray! I was supercheered this week by ny for going to Japan! Must do supercheer myself someday.
32: Make a list of 43 things I know very little about and then learn at least three things about each of them – New goal (got it from Happy) and I like it. Must make list of things.
33: Reflect daily in a ‘one sentence’ journal – Only just started.
