I got to my parents’ and foundered on . . .
a half a slice of homemade rhubarb pie.

but I think it is still ok. I had to move Sunday to Saturday for reasons of social pressure. So I didn’t eat any sweets on Sunday.
Today is day 32.

is that I tend to overdo it on Sundays. I should just stick to the donut holes after church and leave it at that.

not to pig out on Sundays. Living with the fiance really is a challenge on this front. As many women have experienced, being with a guy can really encourage you to put pounds on, or just eat unhealthily or even just too much. Yesterday K. bought a big piece of chocolate ganache cake to share with me, and he is so sweet that he waited until today to share it with me.
But there are so many other situations in which one is encouraged to eat sugar. Today, for example, after the concert that K. and I played in Portola Valley, there was a reception with cake etc. It being Sunday, I had some, but still was conscious that there was cake awaiting at home. It is hard to put the brakes on, especially with social pressure.
I’ll have a lot of alone and at home time this summer. If I play it right, it could be good for me.

Once I let go one day, it really is all over until I make a new resolution. But I like this compromise over just giving up desserts entirely. Today I saw a pomegrante ice cream bar, didn’t get it, but told myself I could get it tomorrow. That helps a lot.
Also began this again on the 15th.

is day 3. That makes it easy to remember, because I started on Tuesday (4/1). That takes me through April and about halfway through May.
The last time I did this it was a pretty effective way to take off the couple of pounds I put on in the fall. Now I’m pretty much back to “normal;” I would, though, like to lose a couple of more and get back to about my early grad school weight. That way I can probably still wear a couple of skirts that have been sitting around unused for awhile.
