How I did it: Twice the Olympics have come to me or at least to my home city. In 1984 I lived in Southern California and was able to go to the summer Olympics. I went to preliminary events since it's a lot cheaper and to me, just as exciting. I lived in Salt Lake when the winter Olympics were here in 2002. I hope to catch another summer Olympics, maybe England?....I hope.
Lessons & tips: Buy tickets early. The preliminary events are cheaper than the medal events. In Salt Lake the medal ceremonies were in the evening and those were worth going to as well.

I was lucky enough to get through the during the phase two ticket sale website and bought myself tickets to the men’s hockey semifinals and bronze medal game, and also a women’s hockey prelim game. Don’t know if I’ll be able to afford to keep the bronze medal tickets, but I’ll be at few events for sure anyways!

every four years i watch the olympics either by myself or with my family. each time i watch it i wish i could be there to see it for myself. there is a wide variety of different events and i wish i could see them all up close! hopefully one year i can persuade my parents or myself, eventually when im old enough, to go! it would be so much fun and really cool! i would never forget it for the rest of my LIFFEEE!
I attended as many Olympic events as my money would let me. It was great fun but watching China play China in the table tennis was a slow afternoon. I’m thinking of attending again; London 2012.
