I got this one off member 952 =P
I have lots of Big goals but this this one is easy and so doable and will really make a difference!
I usually carry a huge side back so I don’t accept plastic bags when I go clothes shopping, but now I plan to carry an “enviro bag” in my usual bag for my groceries.

I just bought this really neat bag that folds up to a clutch size. I can keep it in my purse. My biggest problem is forgetting them at home after I’ve gone shopping.

You see, I was once under the impression that plastic bags helped save trees so therefore I should use them.
Recently, I have come to understand that the misuse of plastic bags(ie littering)by simple folk leads to the death of marine mammals who normally feed on jellyfish. Plastic bags look like jellyfish, and suffocate unsuspecting animals.
So, although I am careful with my use of plastic bags and believe not one has ever escaped my possesion improperly, I am attempting to use fewer(if not completely discontinue my use of) plastic shopping bags.
Also, a handful of students are begenning a movement to encourage retailers in our local(oceanside) community to discontinue their use of plastic bags.
:-D

It’s almost 2 years now since I’ve stopped using plastic bags and eliminate most of the plastic items in my place. I even bring my own metal fork or chopsticks to lunch at work and use metal lunch box. I use bottle jars as containers for left overs and never ever use plastic cups for drinking. I made it a standard not to use plastic if I can and it worked.
