seeing as my mother was an itty-bitty woman when she was younger (she’s 5’2” and was 101 pounds when she was three months pregnant with me), it was oddly ego-boosting to see that the gown was actually a touch too big for me.
while i doubt i’ll actually wear her dress in my own wedding (it’s very pretty, but a little too 80s-ish for me), i loved how eager my mother was to have me try it on. and i’m definitely snatching her veil for my “something old,” because it’s lovely and i’m absolutely smitten with it. it’s so exciting to finally start thinking about things like wedding dresses because it means we’re actually making some progress in the planning process.
