very hyper and playful, So the biggest challenge may well be just keeping him calm while trying to train him.zubby sits well for treats & is pretty much potty trained without crating him.. I just make sure every morning we go outside and its working well so far. EVEN THOUGH, this morning he went pee outside and then came in and pooped.. I was like wtf?!
_ I would like to get him to fetch. He will go chase the ball when I throw it but, well not return it. ANY SUGGESTIONS?_

I have always lived with dogs. Growing up I had a cat, fish, and one time even a hamster. There is just something about a dog that brings love and emotion into the household.
I have even seen boring homes come to life with the simple addition of a puppy.
I was given a very fortunate chance to adopt two puppies for free. A friend of a friend had a litter and just wanted to find them all good and safe homes. We took two of them.
The challenge was to have them as an addition to the house, not a burden.

I ended up taking my little dog on a day-long adventure with me. It was raining most of the time, so he didn’t get to spend as much time outside as he would have liked. I had to leave him in the car while I went and did some things, but I made sure to take him out and bring him everywhere I could. Successful trip. And I have yet to find any poop in my car, so he’s been good. :)

I’m debating wheather I should bring my little dog along on a day trip with me tomorrow, as I’m trying to train him. I’d have to leave him in the car part of the time, but not for more than 1 1/2 hours at a time. He whines so much, it breaks my heart to hear him cry. I’ll probably take him, and see how he does…

He is an adorable young dog, really well behaved, smart, and obedient at home and lovable as can be. In public his fear of strange dogs (thanks to the neighbors beast attacking him, still a little angry about that) leads him to be fear agressive and I’m a little tired of being the lady with the crazy dog, we both deserve better. Ive always had CGC trained dogs, and he was meant to be my tracking dog. So we’ve amped up our training and I’ve contacted a behaviorist so he can become the happy, healthy, hiking/jogging partner he was meant to be

We (my pomerian and I) went to the park for the second time today! He loves it. I kept him in the car while I ran a couple of laps, then rescued him from the car and walked another lap with him for my cool-down. I’d love to be able to run with him, but he gets distracted at every single bush and wants to stop and smell everything. Not that there’s anything wrong with stopping to smell the roses!
The main goal here is to get him potty trained, though. When I leave the house, I put him in the little bathroom, and he has been holding it all day until I come home and let him out. He’s not trained yet, though. He snuck out of my sight and I found poop in the living room… we’re working on it…

We adopted a wonderful American Eskimo Dog from a shelter. We have been working with her on commands. She knows sit, lie down, up and down (so can/cannot be on furniture we choose)Place- she will sit on her bed until we tell her “lets go” (very handy when you are tying your shoes!)
She doesn’t like it when people come in our home or people “rush” to pet her. She gets scared and will nip. We are working with a trainer on this issue. Our goal is to be able to take her camping with our friends.

I have two dogs, Max and Maggie, they were born in the same litter of Shar-Peis. I love both of them to death, and were easy to train when they were really little, I house broke them reather quickly and they learned very fast. Max is very obedient, will come when you call him, stay, and go to his pen when we ask him to. And for the most part Maggie will listen too, but sometimes she just has a mind of her own and will take off running when we let her out. She usually doesn’t do this for me, mostly just for my parents, but it continues to be a problem.

Almost there.

We’re graduating the intermediate training at pets mart tomorrow! Then we start with advanced training on the 21st of April. That program will be about five weeks. I am pretty excited. I really enjoy the training and it’s something my dog and I like to do together. Now just to figure out what we can do after the advanced training.
