Bicycle 500 Miles in April

Just made it.

1,362 miles for the year.

Venessa and I did RAMIOM over the weekend, and I did it again this morning on the way to work.

Today was probably my last ride of the month. I’m a little disappointed in myself. I knew 500 miles was somewhat unrealistic, but this is even less mileage than last month. I’m supposed to be working up, not down.

Well month not completely over yet. With this mornings ride I have 504.50 miles for this month. I had to take my bike into the shop as the lower bracket was making a clicking noise. Should get it back wednesday.
I will probably add a few more miles before the month is over.

Having a string of nice weather here so able to get out and ride the last 4 days. They are forecasting 1 more, sunny & warm day before we might see some rain. Remaining hopeful that I’ll make the April goal…

Sunday I got my bike fitted at Speedy Reedy. Reed made a pretty drastic change to my saddle position, some tweaks to the handlebars, and added a tapered shim between my left shoe and cleat to keep my leg from angling out.

It’s like riding a totally different bike! Though I know it’s for the better because I can already feel more power transferred from my body to the bike.

Unfortunately, it took away much of my only free time to ride. So my Sunday ride was only 13 miles.

Today I did RAMIOM on the way to work. I wanted to do RAMIOM+10 but I ran out of time.

Being blessed with great weather here in NJ… currently 84 and sunny! Did a 30 miler at lunch today and added some killer hills. Legs feeling like rubber now but it sure was fun!

Miles for April: 305.69

I biked to synagogue this morning.

Took a RAMIOM detour this morning on the way to work :)

With todays half century I am at 232.44 for the month. I should be at 250 to be on schedule… I am not. :) Not to fasr behind though to not catch up. Last week I skipped a day so had I not done that I would would still be behind but by only a few miles. Moving forward!

Due to a cartographical error, I realized last weekend’s ride was 10 miles shorter than reported. Add to that a little 30 miler this weekend and I’m only up to 101. Was Saturday the most beautiful day in Seattle ever, or what?
