Writing  — 2 weeks ago

I just love writing, it’s one of my favourite things to do. After i graduate from Uni i want to be a columnist or a features writer for a magazine. I want to have the careers Julie Burchill and Janet Street Porter had when they wrote.

i’ve always had a way with words, they flow through my veins like music through your speakers. ever since i was little, i could string together the best sentences you’ve ever heard of.

this is my dream, one of the few passions in my life.

maybe I am a better thinker then writer. I sure THINK about writing alot. Maybe i just want to talk or communicate. Whatever the case may be I think I want to be heard and I want to matter somehow in the world.

I don’t really know what I want to do with my life but I do know I love to write. I’m not sure how great I am at it but I love to escape reality into my own dimension. Writing takes me away from this world and brings me into my own little one in my mind. I sound nut but its true.

”..i’m almost half way writing my first novel and right now i have an idea for another book.. i’m quite excited actually and very much determined to finish it as soon as i can.. i know it’s not easy.. sometimes i just stare at my computer monitor not having to write anything but i’m thankful for those moments that words just seem to flow through me.. this is really one of the journey’s that i would like to travel in my life.. i’m hoping i could have my book published pretty soon.. i’m hopeful, i’m inspired, i’m scared but that’s okay.. i love it that i’m finally following my heart.. i’ve always wanted to be a writer.. and eventhugh i’m not there yet, i know i’m getting there.. one happy step at a time..”

What does it mean to be a writer?  — 3 months ago

When I first jumped on this sight I thought about how to word my wishes.

Anyone who has ever read stories of Fairy or Djinn wishes gone wrong knows the importance of wording something so powerful.

I am already a writer. To me this means that I write, I choose to communicate my thoughts by lying as boldly as possible with a pen. I choose to do it as much as possible. I opened a door that I now cannot close.

But, I would like to do it professionally. Only one other person has this goal, which I have found is really hard, while some 427 people have the goal “become a writer”, which is really more of a simple choice of lifestyle.

I think that many of you share my goal, so instead of arguing semantics, I’m going to join up here.

That being said… Hi.

Worth doing!

A few weeks ago, I learned that two of my poems are being published in Forte, my college’s literary magazine. While it is not the “major league” of writing, I am overwhelmed at the thought that this dream has already become a reality. And wth my poetry collection still growing, I hope for bigger and better things to come.

What I've always wanted...  — 4 months ago

is to become a great Author, as inspired by Philip Pullman’s The Golden Compass when I was merely 11 years old.
