be a role model

i’d love to be the person some little girl aspires to! like a big sister i suppose, showing them that being confident is all about being comfortable in your own skin.
i’d of loved to have someone around to tell me this, and someone to aspire to instead of the likes of paris hilton, and katie price…

So today I lead a Girl Scout meeting teaching young girls about being responsible for what they say and do!

...to have more confidence and to love themselves the way they are. I love personal styling and just teaching girls and women about fashion makeup, what suits them and what will make them look better. I try to appear confident and act on that because I think it’s so important to live life that way. There are so many girls out there with low self-esteem. And if I can make a difference to just one of them then that’s great :)

but I’ve all ready heard people telling me I’ve inspired them.

Some started salsa dances, other started my diet, some people told me about how confident I appear and others about how kind I am and how they want the same thing.

This sound so self flattering, eww

Anyway, it’s time to mark this as done and set my self some other more practical goals.

For the summer, I had a high school summer intern working with me. It was definitely a great experience. The perspective gained from a mentor role has significantly impacted how much I appreciate the folks that have helped me along the way.

My step-mom (who is my mom because she raised me) has a three year old and a 5 week old and I want to be there for them, and be someone they can admire. I want them to feel like they grew up with me, and not let there be an age barrier. I’m only a teenager, but I feel like my life is going wicked fast and I understand how sometimes it’s hard to make all the right decisions and be the person younger kids want to be. To the world you can be just another person or you can be SOMEONE. And to me, a real role-model is SOMEONE.

I want people to be proud of me…to look up to me or wanna be more like me..to wanna save the world or be a better person to believe in god, etc. That would make me the happiest human being alive!!!!!

I have inadvertently completed this goal. My sister had been telling me – “you’ve done that – you’re an inspiration” and I dismissed her on it.

Well yesterday I was offered a casual position at the dojang where I train in martial arts. I was told that I was an asset and am effectively to be groomed as an instructor for the younger kids groups. I am so honoured and flattered at this request – of course I am going to take it and YAY! I am a role model!!!

I’m slowing down with this one. I’m pushing myself and trying to re-motivate but I guess I’m just in a a need-rest period.

I do offer encouragement and keep thinking right, but I don’t do as many things as before so that people can really look up to me like a role model.

I don’t think of myself as a great martial artist or a great role model generally but given that I have had a few people request that I join – that’s pretty flattering I guess.
