learn to speak some spanish

okay, so i learned to speak SOME spanish. haha. i was in a fast paced spanish 1 class this past semester and i actually did learn some… i’m dropping the class tomorrow though because apparently i’m not learning enough. haha. good thing my goal wasn’t to make it through spanish 1, that would’ve sucked. haha.

wow. there are 10,000-something people who want to do this…. does that mean there are 10,000 people who have not yet completed it? i have actually completed nothing on my list but i DO plan to get my BSN (one day) and i think that if i know spanish when i get it that will double the number of patients i can help and associate with and make feel better on a more personal level. i’ve already signed up for Spanish I next semester and i’ve downloaded the Rosetta Stone software and i’ve told my little brother we’ll learn together and i’m going to mexico tomorrow so i hope i can do this! wish me luck!

Okay, it’s not like a learned really much Spanish. I just wanted enough to get by on my missions trip to Paraguay. So stuff like “donde esta el bano?” was pretty much all I needed. :)

I did learn a few fun things. Likes songs and phrases. “Ce la leche” mean, like, “it’s cool” according to my friend. Or “It’s the milk.” Either way. Sweet saying. Hehe. I felt really happy, because by the end of the trip I said a sentence that I learned on my own. It was just “Come here,” but I had figured it out by reading things and without asking. “Ven aqui.” Yeah, for some reason I was really proud about that…

I might be going on a Missions trip to Paraguay in May! I need to learn me some’n Spaniah like whoa, people.

Plus, the Spanish I learned on the Mexican border is unintelligible in the Carribean (and vice versa).

Stopped at the university bookstore and purchased two teaching tapes on Spanish.
Have made it through 1 CD.
