For as much as I don’t want to have “do by age _ goals” there is such a pull to them. Changing this list radically. Revising internal goals for this to include the most personally important to me and add in small goals too:
-take one year RTW tour: Ambition 2012
-obtain a working visa or extended tourist visa for Oz for 2013
-have 5-10k in bank account savings to tide me over when I get back
-skydive
-live in a big city for a little while (sydney?)
more later
The number one most important goal for me is to begin my RTW tour in my 20s. The 30s to me seem like “settle down time.” I think those are the years to focus on retirement acct, building up savings, paying off debt in full, having a place of my own, holding long-term ‘real’ job, etc. Travel on short trips, week or less, hopefully once per year. Same with 40s, then in 50s I could start thinking about long-term travel again. I just gotta do an rtw in my 20s~

By the day before my 30th birthday, I would like to:
-set off on a RTW journey [might change this to early 30s]
-visit 30 countries
-graduate with my 4 year degree from the U of M (goal to graduate in December 2012 at age 29)
-be living on my own in a nice small apartment or condo, hopefully for a few years by then
-be financially independent
-start a retirement fund and make regular contributions to it
-pay off my credit card and premier line debt (by end of age 27)
-have an emergency fund of 6 months living expenses in the bank
-learn to surf
-hang glide
holy monkey this is quite ambitious (and doesn’t even include my “things to do before age 26” list)! Can I really achieve all of this in 4.5 years? We’ll see…
:D

I need them. No, I actually do. My mission for tomorrow, after the dentist, is to get them. Because I simply must.
See, you put stuff out there and it happens.

Be on a game show.
Eat at a roof-top restaurant, or failing that, eat while sitting on a roof. Not by myself.

I’d like to do something to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research. And possibly some other issues that have touched my life. Not anything people would automically associate me with, but I don’t think anyone would automatically associate me with anything.
Something fun and non-fund raisery-ish. The thing is this. Public fund raising has always, always, always bothered me. Like in a goes-against-everything-I’m-about kind of way. The concept is fine (if handled well) it’s just some methods make me want to turn the air so blue it’s black and get on every soap-box on the planet.
So, something unconventional while still supporting stuff that matters to me. At Uni some friends and I were going to get together and do a sponsored sky-dive/bungee-jump, but that, if you pardon the expression, never got off the ground.
I’ll have to think more about this…
