How to learn 3ds max
How I did it: Self taught through tutorials and the 3dsmax reference and help files. There are tons of tutorials all over the web. Just google them. Getting into a 3d community like renderosity and such sites is also nice.
Lessons & tips: I can recommend www.lynda.com for all you out there who wants to get a good start. It's just a great place for all types of programs.
Also there is 3dbuzz.com which is a great site and renderosity.com.
Resources: lynda.com, youtube.com, 3dbuzz.com, renderosity.com, autodesk.com and so on and so forth...

After getting an ebook on v 2008 and slowly reading through and working through the examples, it is slowly sinking in.
I really need to become fluent in this software for work’s sake.
I know all the fundamentals, and it’s been quite easy getting back to it as I had learnt plenty of it back in uni.
Now I just want it to feel natural for me.
I assume all it will take is using it often.
PS that image is completely CG.
All I needed it for was rendering, and found some alternatives.
What I really need to learn is ProE and Alias…hmmm
I learned 3dsMax in college at ITT Technical Institute. I wasn’t that great at the bone structuring and complex animating, but I was really good at and very passionate about modeling. 3DSMAX was my first taste of the 3D software world, and it is still my favorite. After college, 3D was all I wanted to do as a career. But unfortunately, the city I live in does not have a lot of jobs in the 3D field, if there are any at all. The closest thing I can find around here is a few architectural firms that are looking for 3D/CAD designers, but I never learned CAD. But it’s not even close to as awesome as 3D Studio Max anyway.
