1) Bruce Lee Interview: be water my friend!!
2) Joe Biden: don’t just get promotion to get to the next step. Rather be passionate.
3) Pastor: look at the tiny seeds in your life and moments of grace that have gotten you this far.
4) TV pastor: don’t let the outer man get you down. The devil is already beaten, and the inner man is in communion with God. Your will cannot be beaten. You are king of your dominion.

my 3 sorta, almost near-death experiences

Kind of wimpy as far as “near-death” experiences go, but close enough to make me really consider the worth of my life.. Plus, they were experiences on a local, national and international scale, which has broadened my perspective about how disasters affect me. I can’t read a story about a terrorist attack in Bali without feeling it could happen to me, nor can I feel totally safe at home.
Maybe a strange source of inspiration, but sometimes it takes something drastic to make you really feel life.

my dad. he’s a strong guy. I’m amazed, through all of the circumstances,he’s always been a very fun person to hang around. I really want to learn from him how to be so optimistic.

Showing my Minnesota pride here… the making of this movie and the tale itself make me smile. I recognize this story in similar ones that have been passed down in my family. Very simple love story, between both people and the land. Almost like “Days of Heaven,” only a little more G-rated. I know things definitely weren’t perfect back then, but every once in a while I long to live in the era of this film.
