How I did it: I had to reapply but it was totally worth all of the hard work.  Just when you are about to walk away is when things start to happen.

Lots of studying, shadowing, late nights, but it paid off!

    YAY!!!!!!! 18 months ago

    Well, the admission season for matriculation in Fall 2008 is over for me! I applied to both DO and MD schools, got into a few of both, and rejected by several of both (!).

    It’s such a bizarre process! Anyway, I ended up choosing an acceptance offer to one of my state school’s MD programs. Start date = Aug. 19!!!!!

    If any of you pre-meds stumble upon this and have questions, please contact me! I’m a non-trad career-changer :)

    Interview season.... 2 years ago

    MCAT is done, secondaries are in, now it’s interview season. I’ve been placed on a waitlist at DMU and waiting for results of my CCOM interview. I have an upcoming interview at WVSOM and NSU-COM in November as well. Still waiting for the allopathic schools to move on my application. I re-took the MCAT and just got my scores back so it may be a few more weeks before I hear anything. SIGH Hurry up and wait some more!

    Road to med school 4 years ago

    The road to med school starts back up tomorrow with the fall semester. I need to get A’s in Genetics and Orgo I, which are also separate goals (baby steps…).

    Anyway, I’ll post back after the semester to check on the progress toward getting to med school.

    It’s a long road, but a marathon, not a race!
