And what a challenge. Good thing I’ve been in training for the last 9 months.

The first difficult task was to find a replacement. We had recieved good intel on a sourse and after a long trek to the Stitchmobile and what seemed a neverending drive we came upon a far flung trading post. The name escapes me at the moment but it started with a W.

After gathering other supplies I came across the “Boon” of my search. It seems though that one can’t buy 1 9v battery. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the other 143 at the moment. Maybe I can trade them with Venus for some of her paintings.

Next step, return drive to work site. We were followed for several hours by bandits. Word travels fast when you have 144 9v batteries on you.

The approach. One can’t just rush into something like this. Besides we had to cricle around and backtrack to lose those bandits. Once on-site I put on my climbing harnness, asembled all tools and instruction manuals. put on saftey goggles and bio-suit, repelled down to the work area and set about the task.

With sweat dripping from my brow (think Tom Cruise in the first Mission Impossible movie, but less gay) I removed the old power source and carefully put it in a lead lined, vacuum sealed container for disposal. And carefully, installed the new one. Gathered my tools and climbed my way back to safety.

Within the hour, my sidekick and I (Okay! I don’t really have a sidekick. I am accepting applications though. Lets keep this straight, I have to be the tall good looking one! As with all side kicks you should be sort of a nerd, funny, handy with electronics and someone that can get me out of a tight spot from time to time. Or… a cute chica would work as well.) were sipping brandy and puffing cigars and our favorite oak panneled gentlemans club.

Whew!
