How I did it: Went to the library and checked the book out, and then I planted myself in a chair two days in a row and read.I wish I could write with the flare and sophistication as Nabokov. I found H.H. to be instantly identifiable (or at least palatable) throughout and his omission towards the end further relates his character. Moreover, considering how the book is written, especially with a great many asides, it isn't even the writing that is impres… Read how I did it…
How I did it: Checked it out at the library and read it at home because I felt a little too creepy reading it in public (but that's just me :) ) Make sure you're pretty awake/alert and have time to take in all of the words or you might miss out on his amazingly poetic descriptions. It might be too much to read in huge chunks, but it's definitely worth it either way. Read how I did it…

Ok, I just bought my copy of Lolita from a used book store for 6.95. I’ve read the first few pages and I can already tell this book is going to take me awhile. I really want to understand it so I’m going to take it slow.
I have heard so much about htis book. I feel like I owe it to the world because I have had so many convetrsations about it!
gave two opposing views of humbert. I want to know how he was supposed to be.

i HATED this book with a passion!!!
what a sicko!
I can’t believe this book is so popular and gets such good reviews when it is about a nasty old man trying to justify his love for little girls.
disgusting.
Did tend to get a bit tedious in the middle perhaps because I have about 5 other books to read). And a little confusing at times, but yeah worth doing I think.
and yeah the language is good but I find myself doing the annoying thing of missing out paragraphs of description (which i always do if i find something getting a little tideous) and I don’t really care much for the characters, but i suppose its one of those books everyones got to read.
I read this while on vacation. It was a very difficult read because for some reason I didn’t realize what happened to Lolita or why she just suddenly disappeared; I had to look it up later just to understand what happened, I guess I missed an important part. I’m really glad I read it though, I can relate to it a lot (not the pedophilia but the unrequited love)

I keep picking this book up whenever I see it at the book store, stare at the cover, and then end up putting it back and buying something else. So, as I’ve been wanting to read this for some time now, I’m going to stop procrastinating and realize this goal by, hopefully, this weekend. The rest of my line-up can wait.
