Okay… just in the nick of time I twisted myself an acceptable up-doo. Until I snapped this shot this aft, I was still debating calling to cancel my hair appt (which, in hindsight, I probably shoulda done… but oh well!)

While it may not look like much, it always made me happy to have a big mess of a ponytail.

Not overly fond of this picture (was tempted to paste Unc’s face in it, actually :o) but since this is how my hair looks almost all the time, it’ll do.

Decided to go outside for a couple of shots, because it was such a sunny day and my very mousy brown hair can often have a reddish hue in the sunlight (I know, I know… you gotta reeeeally want to see it).

This is how my hair looks most every day – combed once in the morning and then that’s it for the day (though it finds itself corralled in a claw-clip twenty times a day). I like the little waves at the ends – those go away if I comb it out, so that’s my standing excuse for so little hair care.

I’ve begun the wardrobe overhaul, and now it’s time to do something more interesting with my hair to with the new look. For most of my life I’ve had plain ole long, just-hangin’-there hair. I won’t dye or perm it, because I’m quite sure those products are all loaded with toxic poisonous shit I don’t want to absorb through my scalp, but I supPOSE I could be a grown up and spend five extra minutes a day blow drying or otherwise styling my hair. At the very least, I could have it professionally cut and styled more than once every other year.

And, if you can believe it, to support my recent efforts to present myself better, my dear friend Sheila bought me a gift certificate for a scalp massage, hair cut and style, and mini-mani – at a real salon!! I am so touched that she would be so generous in her support. And I can hardly wait!! I’m ready to be (a little) daring, though I haven’t a clue what I want or what would suit me/my lifestyle. Anyway, I booked the appt for Friday after work, so yippee!!!

But before I let my long hair go, I want a few great pics because I think I’ll miss it, no matter how much I love the new style; I’ve looked the same for…ever!
