It’s been months. I’m no closer than I was when I made this a goal. It’s not a proirity and it’s hard to teach myself how to play instruments. It’ll be a few years.

I did not play the mandolin, but I did watch a mandolin get played! That counts. My parents came to visit, and within the first hour of them being here, we were sitting in fold-out chairs behind a bowling alley at a Bluegrass Festival. It was free and only an hour long, but it was enjoyable. Plus, my friend brought her Aussie <3.

Time did not allow for this. Maybe in June. Odd enough, there was no ambition to play.

I really hope to spend a few hours refreshing on how to play when I go home. I hope it’ll make for a good memory. I can’t wait.

Since I was in 6th grade, my dad has been on me to learn to play an instrument. He play’s various instruments, and sings. I’ve always ‘tried’ to learn, but have never been able to keep motived. The other day, I was on the phone with my dad and was saying how I needed a hobby, and he said, “I’ll mail you your mandolin. That’ll be a great pass-time.” It made me sad that I never seriously spent the time with him and learned how to play it.
