The best weekend for ages! 14 months ago

I check this goal as done, cos this weekend (that started on Wednesday :P) has been really great :) I’m sure that maybe at least some of you might have noticed that I haven’t been here much. I had my two closest friends here visiting me and the weather has been so wonderful! But now they left, and I am back here :D Cos I miss everybody here. Tomorrow I have the whole day by myself too which would be nice too cos few days have been so busy for me.

Something bad though happened. My camera is broken :( For some reason the LCD (or something like that) screen doesn’t work any more. I’ll will take it to back to that store Monday and I am sure I will get it fixed or get new camera cos it’s less than year old. But it’s such a shame cos I couldn’t take pics of my friends and since I am leaving to Germany next week, I might have to go without my camera :(

I've had an AWESOME weekend! 14 months ago

It all started Friday afternoon, when I got dolled up and went for a few drinks after work for a friend’s birthday. From there I went out to my aunt’s 40th birthday bash, stopping for a quick visit with my mom en route, where we designed a funny card for my grandmother, who’s not well at the moment. At the party I got to hang out with my aunt, my cousins and Big Bro; then bro and I headed on to Little Bro’s house, who was having a LAN party, and stayed for a while swapping funny anecdotes and obscure in-jokes with him and his friends. (Among other things I learned that if you’re ever offered home-made rum by a college student, you should firmly decline. :-p )

I stayed over at my mom’s, and spent Saturday with her. We ran a few errands, cooked a delicious meal together, and visited my grandmother with the card (which delighted her :o) ) and some lovely flowers. Then Saturday evening I headed back into town and went to my best friend’s house, who’d invited a few of us over to meet his new boyfriend; he was very quickly one of us, and we had a fantastic evening filled with talking and hugs and dancing and laughter.

After all that I needed a rest, so on Sunday I made myself breakfast in bed, then went back to sleep for a while, then (to crown the decadence :-p ) had lunch curled up in bed with my book as well. In the afternoon I went to visit a dear friend who I only get to see once every few months, and had a lovely long by-turns-funny-and-serious talk with him. Then back home, picking up pizza on the way (mmm, pizza :o) ), and spent the evening chatting with my beloved and watching multiple episodes of QI.

It’s been the perfect combination of friends-time, family-time and me-time. It was lovely to catch up with people I hadn’t seen in a while; I had buckets of fun and got to do nice things for others as well; and having spent so much time with people who care about me, I feel comprehensively loved. I did have a fleeting wish that I’d gotten a couple of practical things done, but then I figure I can do those anytime, and it feels like this weekend has replenished my heart and soul, which is more important in the long run. I think it definitely counts as splendiferous. :o)

On going 15 months ago

Since last weekend wasn’t that great, I’m doing this now again. I already had really nice Friday so I am optimistic that this will be the nice plendiferous weekend :D

Today I:
  1. Went shopping and found new skirt :)
  2. Bought a lot of veggies and fruits and made myself healthy and wonderful vegetarian meal and fruit salad.
  3. Painted :)
  4. Watched 4 movies without taking a pause :D
  5. Called about one apartment, almost got to see it, but then suddenly the apartment wasn’t available anymore. That made me a bit sad. But I am happy that I at least called :)

However I miss my honey and I would love to talk with him, but he’s not available. But cos I know that he’s having (I hope!) wonderful time now, I’m not that sad :) Besides it’s only two Fridays anymore that I have to be without him :)

And now, I think I will soon crash to my beautiful pink bed and sleep well :)

My weekend 15 months ago

I am doubting can I check this as done or not. There was good sides and bad sides in this weekend. Hmm let see…

Positive things:
  1. I was alone whole weekend.
  2. I didn’t stress pretty much about anything.
  3. I watched quite much movies.
  4. Talked with my parents over an hour by phone.
  5. Dyed my hair.
  6. Made really excellent food.
  7. I didn’t have to go out whole weekend.
  8. Had goodnight sleeps.
  9. Nice MSN conversations.
Negative sides:
  1. I was alone whole weekend. I felt lonely.
  2. I upset my mind about something really stupid.
  3. The weather was so bad that I didn’t feel like going out at all.
  4. I didn’t yoga at all.

Hmm maybe I keep this on my list until I really have had splendiferous weekend.

Ugh. 15 months ago

The good mood and energy with which I woke up Saturday morning rapidly evaporated; I got a bit done, but nowhere near as much as I was hoping. Then Sunday morning saw the arrival of my dear little monthly friend, so I spent most of the day lying on the couch, popping Panadol and feeling sorry for myself. Not a successful weekend.

Oh well. I’m a bit frustrated at how little I got done, but there’s always next weekend…

Waking up 15 months ago

I’m not sure 10.30am quite counts as “betimes”, but it’s not too bad for a Saturday morning when one was out till two thirty the night before :-p

Very first thing I need to do is go shopping, since I’ve just discovered I’ve no milk for coffee, nor anything for breakfast. Or maybe I’ll be decadent and go out for breakfast :o) Either way, I need to add grocery shopping to my list.

We’ll get started now in a few minutes… soon as the aspirin kicks in and disappears my headache :-p

I join this goal too! 15 months ago
I’m having this weekend by myself. I have been so stressed this week so I need now my own time to relax. I want to make this weekend great. Things that I want to do:
  • Watch movies.
  • Sleep late.
  • Make some good food.
  • Enjoy the sun if it’s possible by taking a long walk or bike ride.
  • Listen loudly music that I want.
  • Treat myself with something good.
Things that I already did:
  • Dyed my hair brown.
  • Listening music that I want loud.
  • Relaxed by playing Age of Empires.
  • Walked half naked in the apartment.

I've really been looking forward 15 months ago

to having this weekend all to myself after spending the last few weekends in a whirl of activity. However, I don’t want to just laze around reading the whole time and fritter it away, so I’m making a list of things which, if I get all or even most of them done over the weekend, will enable me to look back at it with satisfaction. I’m aiming for a balance between productive things and down-time.

  • Drinks with the gang tonight – a good start to any weekend! :o)
  • Wake up betimes tomorrow morning
  • Strip bed and wash sheets
  • Do at least one other load of laundry
  • Wash dishes
  • Wash kitchen floor
  • Change kitty litter
  • Send two quick and easy emails (D and T) and one difficult one (L)
  • Spend at least three one-hour periods, at different stages over the weekend, decluttering; stick to an hour to avoid getting caught up browsing through things and ending up spending all day at it
  • Give myself a pedicure
  • Curl up to watch a movie with a bowl of icecream, a glass of wine, or both :o)
  • Sort out my Flickr account and give my mom access to the photos she wants
  • Call in to see D on Sunday morning
  • If I’ve got enough accomplished by then, go out to see my mom for a couple hours Sunday afternoon
  • Get to bed at a reasonable hour Sunday night to start next week off on the right foot!

EDIT: Also…

  • Grocery shopping
  • Clear and wash out fridge
