So i have finally figured out what i want to do with my life! i have been jumping from job idea to another for the past 2-3 years from a plumber to a musician to a personal assistant to name a few. But art and all its glory has always been on my mind. This does super freak me out because i dont know where to begin.I have enough money saved up to go and buy all new mediums and equipment (oil pastels, acrylic paints, drawing board ect) and need to paint/draw everyday to improve, explore new mediums and hopefully achieve higher art this year and go to a good art school like Glasgow, Edinburgh, Grays school of art (The RCA has been a dream of mine for one day). I also need to travel to different places to see exhibitions of other artists works since theres only one or two gallerys a year where i live. This is probably the most hardest and ambitious thing i have ever set myself to do, but i know with hard work and determination the sky is the limit and i can achieve anything i want, i will not give up on this dream!

How I did it: Just start. Believe in yourself. I started painting one day and 20 years later I am still painting. The key is to have fun and realize that there are no mistakes. Once you realize there are no mistakes it is just fun, fun, fun. Don't get frustrated...adapt, adjust, experiment. I started with watercolors, moved to oil paints, then to acrylics, now I am working with encaustics...it is a fun journey. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Well when I realized everyday everyone is creating things, I felt silly. We all create every single day. We are walking living art. Manifesting subconsciously and consciously. How amazing IS that! Life is the canvas and when we choose, like a paint brush we paint and paint and paint. Ahhh I love being an artist. Consciously pick up the brush. How I did it: To me, being an artist is not something you can achieve right away. To be quite honest, i dont believe im a true artist because to say that i am means that im done learning....and in all honesty, i have a lot to learn. although i do believe i can learn and i can do this if i try my hardest to listen and see what is around me. People always say: “WOW! You should become an artist!” And I have always just smiled and said thanks. It is something I really want to do, but it’s one of those jobs that can either be really successful, or not very successful at all.
I have so many beautifully searing images in my head, I just want to actually get to look at them, you know?

I painted yesterday. Just broke out the acrylics and went to town. The product was definitely outsider-’way outsider-art. But I’m just getting used to holding a brush again. I’m out of practice, that’s for sure, so this will be all about process for awhile, not product. And that’s a good thing!

Just for fun, I cut shapes in a sheet of play foam with an exacto knife, and then got out my brayer and inking tray and went to town. Make four prints, two in copper and two in a gold/copper mix. It was totally fun, fun, fun!

Art is a great way to express the parts of you that people can’t see. It is enjoyable and very easy to learn. People don’t usually get to know me before they judge me so I like to sketch things at school so people can get a little taste of me.
