I agree the phenomenon should be challenged. Either in heterosexual and non-heterosexual environment, the other one is ignored or even not respected due to personal beliefs, previous unpleasant experiences etc. But in my opinion people should finally understand that one is NOT defined by their sexuality. It’s just a part of every single one of us, it does not make the whole of us, to be categorized.

Amazon de-lists gay books

Amazon Follies
seriously?
Since when does “adult content” = “gay/lesbian” and vice versa?
Yes, for sure, there is some gay/lesbian-themed writing that is “adult” in nature, but, erm, then to extrapolate that ALL gay/lesbian-themed writing is adult in nature seems to be making Quite a Mistake, Amazon!

Great News! Rep. Jerrold Nadler plans to reintroduce the Uniting American Families Act on Feb. 13!
You can make the bill a success by convincing your Representative to support the bill from Day One. Reintroducing the bill with as many cosponsors as possible will show powerful momentum for the rights of gay and lesbian binational couples!
Please call your Representative and ask them to be an original cosponsor of the “Uniting American Families Act of 2009”

Seriously, five hundred and fifteen! Check out Project 515: http://project515.org/ Their work is a wake up call for any of you who think that discrimination against queer, transgender, bisexual, gay or lesbian folks is a thing of the past. It isn’t, even here in liberal Minnesota, where we have some of the best legal protection in the country.
I personally don’t want to get married for the sake of getting married. I would be happy with a civil union that would allow me and my partner equal legal protections and rights as mixed sex or heterosexual couples. One thing to watch for in the anti-gay marriage bills being proposed around the country is that some of them outlaw civil unions. Some of them make it impossible for one to grant medical power of attorney to same sex partners. Those bills are insidious and very, very scary.
I would like to see us create a civil, legal domestic partnership option for both same sex couples AND mixed sex couples that is completely separate from all the moral (and moralistic), historical, cultural, and religious baggage that is attached to marriage as an institution. For queer people who do choose to get married, I hope they can recreate it anew, as something empowering, proud, bold, intentional and honest.
